It was all about expression of praises and testimonies as Church Planter and Assembly Pastor, Christ Apostolic Church, Fountain of Mercy, Agbala Imuse District, Apata Zone, Ibadan, Pastor Aderemi Adegoke marks 75th birthday and retirement.
The retirement service was held at CAC Fountain of Mercy, Apata, Ibadan on Saturday and was well attended by family, friends and well wishers from within and beyond Ibadan who were grateful to God for the celebrant's life.
In their words of testimony, some of the children recounted integrity, truthfulness, administration, and total dependence on God and not man as some of the virtues which they had learnt from their father - the celebrant.
One of the children, Pastor Raphael Adegoke, who is the Assembly Pastor, Christ Apostolic Church, Victory Chapel (an English Speaking Assembly) stated that most of the virtues that have sustained him in ministry today were those he learnt from his father.
Some of the church members present also identified Pastor Adegoke as a man of God who would preach the word of God undiluted. Other people in his neighbourhood also attested to truthfulness and veracity.
In addition to this, others stated that he was choleric man who though hard on the outside, was soft on the inside and would go any length to ensure that things were properly done.
The Superintendent, Apata Zone, Pastor S.O. Adekanmi during the birthday/retirement message stated that the retirement though considered to be a time of rest should also encourage him to press on towards his dependence on God.
Pastor Aderemi Adegoke worked at The Polytechnic, Ibadan and Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) before he yielded call to full time ministry, the journey which began in 1994 after having graduated from ECWA Theological Seminary.
The full time ministerial assignment began in 1994 at CAC Oke Olorun Kiiseti, Kajola, Ibadan (then, under Sango District) before he was later transferred to CAC Oke -Imole, Agbowo where he was later ordained in 1999.
In 2000, he received a call for Church planting which led to the planting of the CAC Fountain of Mercy assemblies.
He is a Teacher and an administrator per excellence. God used him in several leadership positions at the District and Zonal levels, CAN, CPFN, e.t.c. He was for several years the Secretary, CAC Oke - Ife, Orita Challenge, Ibadan.
Also, till his retirement, Pastor Adegoke was the Secretary, Apata Zone.
God has used him to raise and mentor many leaders. He is married to Evang. (Mrs) Victoria Adegoke who is also a Church planter and an evangelist in CAC and they are blessed with children (one of them is a pastor in CAC) and grandchildren.
