The General Evangelist of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Prophet Hezekiah O. Oladeji has harped on the importance of spiritual growth, saying those who refuse to grow are preys to the devil.
He noted that when Christ was with His disciples, they didn't grow because they didn't have Holy Spirit and Power, saying that Christ knew this and that was why He asked them to wait upon the Holy Spirit on Pentecost.
Prophet Hezekiah stated this while ministering this morning at the 2023 Edition of the Annual Conference of all Evangelists, Planters, Prophets and Prophetesses of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas.
The General Evangelist further said the disciples of Jesus initially couldn't take the gospel to Samaria, Judea and Jerusalem because they didn't have the Holy Spirit and they had not grown spiritually despite being of age.
He told the ministers at the conference that they cannot associate with Jesus Christ until they are given to consistent growth in the spirit, adding that if you can grow, Jesus will be visible in your life.
According to him, many have stopped at the level of speaking in tongues after receiving the Holy Spirit and have failed to move to other levels.
Explaining how the first President of the church, Pastor (Oba) I.B. Akinyele tutored Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, Prophet Hezekiah said there are many church planters whose inability to pass through tutelage is affecting their ministry because they haven't grown.
He noted that there are many who are called Prophets but do not have the virtues of Prophet, who are thieves stealing with tricks.
"When one losses his or her divine virtues, there will not be Holy Ghost fire again. Holiness will be thing of the past and that was what happened to King Saul. It is those who have grown spiritually that the devil will honour. Thos who refuse to grow will only be running after ephemeral things," Prophet Hezekiah noted.
The conference continues this evening at CAC Babalola Memorial Miracle Camp, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun state, with different impactful programmes. It will end in the early hours of Saturday June 10, 2023 .
