"God is more interested in how you become than what you become. God is more interested in how you achieve your success than the success itself," the Chaplain, Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji Arakeji, Pastor Johnson O. Oluwasanmi has told youths.
In a world where they say the end justifies the means, the cleric clarified that when it comes to God, the means justifies the end, charging that everyone must be careful of how they achieve success.
Pastor Oluwasanmi gave this charge during the first lecture on Wednesday, 23rd August, 2023 at the ongoing 2023 CAC International Youth Conference and Thanksgiving Celebration, Ikeji 1 Conference center, holding at Joseph Ayo Babalola Memorial International Miracle Camp, Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State.
The JABU Chaplain, speaking on the topic, "Securing your Future through Sound Doctrine" from the texts, 1 Timothy 4:13-16 and Proverbs 23:17,18, exposited that these texts confirm the importance of doctrine to the right future.
"Naturally, everyone desires to have a bright future. We are all praying that our tomorrow will be better than today. God wants all of us to have a better tomorrow. God has pleasure in who makes it in life," he said.
According to cleric, one of the best means for to excel in life is to follow the doctrines, teachings and the commands of God, defining doctrine as teaching and what the Bible says about a subject.
Pastor Oluwasanmi who told the youths that there are so many biblical doctrines which they must know and activate in their lives, stated that to secure the future, to have a better tomorrow, to excel in life, they must follow and live the following, the study of the Word on a daily basis, flee youthful lust, fellowship with the brethren, avoiding association with fools and ungodly, totally rely on God, due diligence, sound scriptural prayers, obedience to church authority, and avoiding rash or fast decisions.
He noted the right attitudes to sound doctrine as, learning it, studying it, meditating on it, memorizing it, loving it, living it and sharing it."
According to him, the many reasons our generation is failing in sound doctrine includes, ignorance, prosperity of the ungodly, ungodly association, ungodly civilization, inadequate godly leadership and ungodly companion.
The Chaplain said that, "if you follow sound doctrine, you will excel," adding that some of the examples of those who have followed sound doctrine are Joseph, Daniel and Ruth.
