The General Evangelist of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Prophet Hezekiah O. Oladeji has said any minister whose life is not accepted by God is not qualified to be called a minister of God.
He noted that our fathers of faith in Christ Apostolic Church were able to achieve all what they achieved in their generation because they had genuine salvation and they grew in the Lord.
Prophet Oladeji stated this at the 2023 edition of the Annual Week of the Heroes of Faith, a programme organised by the World Evangelistic Outreach of CAC Nigeria and Overseas to commemorate the lifestyle and exploits of forefathers of the church.
Speaking on the topic "Who is a living soul?" taking his text from "John vs. 1 12-13," the General Evangelist said living souls are those who have the Spirit of Jesus and have surrendered their lives totally to Him.
Prophet Hezekiah told ministers that they are not called to show themselves, but Christ to the world.
He added that, "what will you demonstrate or show to the world when you don't have Christ in you? What our forefathers showcased was Jesus Christ in them. They were not afraid of going to prison because of the gospel and they never changed their message. Apostle Babalola wasn't called Apostle during his earthly ministry because he was not after titles, but was very dedicated to kingdom service. It was after his death he was named an apostle. The pursuit of our fathers was to showcase Christ to the world. They were not sad walking barefooted to preach the gospel from one town or city to another. They did the work in discomfort, unlike today when many Ministers are looking for comfort at all cost. Our fathers were able to achieve all what they achieved in their generation because they had genuine salvation and they grew in the Lord."
According to him, the Heroes of Faith were not men of themselves but they lived for God and that was why God was very evident in their ministrations.
He noted that one of the reasons we suffer today as Christians is because we have failed to put Christ at the centre and we have not surrendered totally to Him, stating that only a spirit-filled man can do the work of God effectively, efficiently and as He expects.
The General Evangelist prayed powerfully for the congregation to be filled with the Holy Ghost.
