Christ Apostolic Church, Ijebu-Igbo Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC) headquarters, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State has held her 80th founding and harvest anniversary.
The 80 years founding and harvest anniversary celebration was a day filled with deep meaning and joy, marked by the excitement revealed and the church's refreshed look.
This year’s Harvest Anniversary was unique and important for the church because it symbolised a major landmark in the church's epochal and divinely-orchestrated history.
The transformation shows the strong commitment to always grow and strive for excellence, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the journey.
The event unveiled a series of activities to celebrate 80 years of God’s faithfulness since the existence of the church founded in 1943.
The festivities started with a joyful Praise and Worship session at 11am. The church choir created a spiritually uplifting experience, setting a reverent atmosphere for the day. The congregation, coming together in faith, joined in a heartfelt hymn session that echoed through the sanctuary.
Notable ministers of God in attendance are the Regional Superintendent of Essien Region, Pastor I.O. Eyebiokin, represented by Pastor G.O. Alagbe; retired and former Ijebu-Igbo DCC Superintendent, Pastor G.S.A. Adenuga; Ijebu Axis Superintendent, Pastor D.D. Idowu, Pastor Omotoyinbo and many others.
The church celebrated the diversity of its community, recognizing various groups like the Children's Department, Good Women's Choir, and the Church Choir for their unique contributions.
Furthermore, the Secretary of Ijebu-Igbo DCC, Pastor F.A. Adeeko shared a concise history of how the church began in the early 1940s, initiated by a small group led by Evangelist Efunowo Amos, a native of Ago Iwoye.
In a special ceremony, four(4) elders and twelve(12) deaconesses were consecrated showing a renewed commitment to leadership and service in the church. The elders and deacons underwent a rigorous 7-week training programme before they were consecrated.
Another important highlight of the day was Pastor Alagbe's impactful sermon titled "Jesus is coming back."
The sermon explored Jesus' dual role as a redeemer and future judge, prompting a meaningful question to the congregation: "Are you prepared?" The call was for the church to reflect on their spiritual readiness.
The DCC Superintendent of Ijebu-Igbo DCC, Pastor J.S. Adefila, acknowledged and appreciated God in the lives of members of the leadership of the Church, Pastors, ministers, workers, members and other men and women of note that God has used at one point or the other who made the 80tht anniversary a success.
This milestone not only honored the church's rich history but was also a demonstration of unity, strength, and steadfast commitment to the future as the church looked forward to the blessings and growth that the next phase of the journey will bring.
