Christ Apostolic Church Oke Iyanu, Salem Zonal Headquarters, has on Sunday, December 3, 2023 celebrated her 2023 Annual Harvest Anniversary being a glorious event that attracted the joy of the church members, well wishers and ministers of God.
The Zonal Superintendent, Pastor Daniel A. Olorunfunmi preaching on the theme of the harvest, "Jehovah Rapha" from the text Exodus 15:22-27.
Pastor Olorunfunmi explained that God reveals Himself to His people in a different forms based on their circumstances or experiences, citing that He revealed Himself to Moses as Jehovah because He wanted to deliver them out of Egypt and from the hands of Pharaoh.
He continued that while God revealed himself as Jehovah Rapha meaning 'I am the Lord that healeth thee', it was a call for his people to come on board because He wanted them to know that He has seen their sicknesses and afflictions, and that He is the one that can heal them.
"God knows that many lives are sick, the church is sick, the nation is sick and the entire world and has come with the promise of healing. When the people of Israel got to Marah, they could not drink of the waters for they were bitter and the people murmured. But God assured them that no disease will come unto them," he said.
The cleric noted that before healing can take place, one must know the sickness and also try to figure out the cause of the sickness, saying the major cause of sicknesses and diseases is sin, among the other factors that could be the cause.
With a allegory of the children of Israel who were bitten by snakes as a result of their murmuring against God, the clergy man stated that obedience is key to receiving healing, adding examples line Naaman, woman who has issue of blood, Peter's mother in law etc as healing cases in the Bible.
Pastor Olorunfunmi concluded that the medium for healing are, prayer and faith, seeking God, thanksgiving and trust in God.
