Three years after his death, the words of the Scriptures which says "the reputation of the righteous becomes a sweet memorial to him (Proverbs 10:7, TPT)" becomes fulfilled for Late Pastor Gabriel Oduronbi as all and sundry gathered at Christ Apostolic Church, Egba DCC, Isale Ake, Abeokuta, for a prophetic gathering in his honour.

The maiden gathering held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, for Late Prophet Oduronbi who died December 27, 2020 was convened and organised by his son, Pastor Ayo Oduronbi.

The maiden event attracted many testimonies from aged, young men and women, as well as ministers of God who found no fault in the leadership and selfless life lived by the Prophet in his days and as Pastor to many. Common among the many testimonies given were his selfless act of giving to his church members and Pastors, his ability to relate friendly with everyone, and his rare gift of interpretation of tongues.

Late Prophet Oduronbi who was well known for his contributions to the expansion and growth of Christ Apostolic Church in Egba land while he served as Egba DCC Chairman, retired as Chairman, CAC Badagry DCC in 2018.

The Regional Superintendent, CAC Essien region, Pastor Isaac Olu Eyebiokin gave the Father's blessings at the early start of the programme.

Taking the memorial lecture titled "Legacies of the Righteous: Gabriel Oluwole Oduronbi as a Case Study", the Superintendent, CAC Agbara DCC, Pastor Joseph F. Omolola, also joined the precedence of extolling the virtues of the late Prophetic icon.

According to him, "death is the end of every man. We are not here only to celebrate the dead but to learn from the legacies left behind. If you came here and do not take any lessons, it would have been better if you did not come."

With biblical examples of Samuel and the godly legacies of Prophet Oduronbi, Pastor Omolola furthered that faithfulness and righteousness is missing in the church today which according to him, is one of the reasons Christianity seems to be losing its relevance.

Noting some of the virtues of the late cleric, the Agbara DCC Superintendent explained that Baba Oduronbi who saw every transfer as God's will, was dedicated to serving God wholeheartedly.

Decrying the menace of ministers of God focusing more on titles than service these days, Pastor Omolola added that the greatest inheritance parents must have for their children is Christ.

He counselled the audience to join hands to ensure the memorial service continues as expands to covering the giving and prophetic ministries of Baba Oduronbi.

The convener, Pastor Ayo Oduronbi, who is also the minister-in-charge of CAC Isale Ake English Assembly, extolled the godly legacies of his father, explaining how he could no longer fight the promptings and leadings to hold an annual gathering that would reflect the core of his father's ministry which are the prophetic, teaching and giving.

He revealed that they trust to expand into sharing welfare materials such as food stuffs, and providing scholarships for people in the coming years, appreciating all and sundry who graced the occasion.

The event was also characterized by prophetic prayer sessions by Prophet E. O. Awoyokun; and the Regional Evangelist, CAC Essien region, Evang. G. O. Ajayi; as well as songs ministrations by Ayan Jesu Gospel Singers and Sister Florence Music Band.
