The Family of Pastor Gabriel O. Ebonem has announced the passing to glory of their father and former General Secretary of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor G. O. E Okafor.
In a statement signed by the son of the late icon exclusively obtained by CAC News, Pastor Okafor gave up the ghost on Friday morning at the age of 87 in the city of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Pastor Okafor served as the General Secretary of Christ Apostolic Church from 1995 to 1998. Before serving as the General Secretary, he was the first Youth Officer of the Church (now Director of Youth Affairs) from 1993 to 1994.
The deceased was also a former Principal Secretary to the Minister of Defence & Chief of General Staff in the Ministry of Defence from 1980 to 1993.
Pastor Rotimi Okafor, the son who signed the statement, noted that burial arrangements will be subsequently announced.
