The Music Directorate of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas on Sunday January 28, 2024 inaugurated the regional choir executives of Odubanjo Region.
At the inauguration service held at the Odubanjo regional headquarters, CAC Oke-Igan, Akure Ondo state, the Director of Music/Director of Administration, Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Tope Dada inaugurated the executives, while the Regional Superintendent of Odubanjo Region, Pastor Benjamin Olayiwola Akanmu prayed and committed the newly inaugurated Executives to the hands of God.
Mr. Akinsola Sunday Benjamin is the new Regional Choirmaster, while Mr. Apalowo Femi and Pastor Famuyide Joshua are the new Assistants Regional Choirmaster. Other members of the executives are; the Organist, Elder Dr. Depo-Mogaji Alaba; the Secretary, Elder Oyeyemi Johnson; Assistant Secretary, Deaconess Daodu Adefunke Anthonia; Treasurer, Deaconess Oloyede; Financial Secretary, Mr. Anthony Ayodele; Welfare Officer, Mr. Femi Ogunjimakin; Librarian, Elder Ademola Rotoye; Public Relations Officer, Pastor Emmanuel Abiodun Awonusi; Band Leader, Mr. Adetayo Olatubosun; Prayer Secretary, Pastor Oloye Gabriel, among others.
Pastor Tope Dada, while inaugurating the new executives gave credence to the founding fathers of the Choir including the late Elder J. A. Babalola (Olorire), Chief J. O. Babafemi (Aduralere), HRM Oba Pastor V. D. F. Obasoro (a refined Organist); tasked the Choir leadership and Choristers to be heavenly focused, making holiness and righteousness their mantra, diligent in service, with constant training to improve their competencies, develop their capabilities, and be loyal to the Church.
In his message at the programme, Pastor Dada urged Christians to diligently use their personal capabilities as faithful stewards in the service of God.
Preaching on the topic: "Stewardship of Personal Capabilities", the gospel music czar admonished the congregation to always remember that God divinely deposited in them some specific competencies and talents expected to be used for God's purpose before they were born, citing Jeremiah 1:5 which says ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.’
He told them that, "God has ordained you for a purpose, hence everyone must utilize his/her giving gifts and talents to promote the kingdom of God. Everyone will account for their services before God Almighty."
Taking his texts from the book of Exodus 31:1-5, Matthew 25:14-30, and Ecclesiastics 12:13-14, the Clergyman tasked the congregation to be wary of acts that can make one beclouded with arrogance, disloyalty, and spiritual laziness in the discharge of their God’s assigned duties.
He stated that God gives people diverse gifts that include: Administration, Apostleship, Craftsmanship, Discernment, Encouragement, Evangelism, Faith, Faith-giving, Healing, Helping, Hospitality, Intercession, Knowledge, Leadership, Mercy, Miracles, Prophecy, Serving, Shepherding, Teaching, Wisdom, Tongues and Interpretation.
Adding that these gifts must be consciously and carefully used for the purpose given by God, he reiterated that complete loyalty to God and the authority of the Church is sacrosanct in all ramifications of service.
The Odubanjo Regional Superintendent, Pastor Benjamin Olayiwola Akanmu who led other ministers at the service expressed his joy and appreciation to God and the Church Authority for their concerns, prayers, and support for the region.
The service had in attendance the Assistant Director of Music, CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Paul Bankole; Superintendent, IpadaboJesu DCC and Odubanjo Regional Choir Supervisor, Pastor G. Olu Akeju; Superintendent, Revival Centre DCC and CACMA Choir Leader, Pastor T. O. Oyerinde; Camp Manager of Babalola Memorial International Miracle Camp, Ikeji-Arakeji, Pastor S. A. Adesoji; District Superintendent, Afo District, Pastor Joel Abe; HOD, Human Management, JABU, Pastor Dr. Kunle Magbagbeola; Babalola Regional Choirmaster, Elder Femi Ilori; Elder Oludare Akinyemi; Pastor Ayo Fagbe and the erstwhile Odubanjo Assistant Regional Choirmasters among other dignitaries.
