Under the wave of celebrating great fathers and contemporary heroes of faith who have toiled their lives for the service of God, particularly in Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, friends and proteges of Pastor Gideon O. Oladokun, have thrown a surprise birthday celebration for the cleric.
The CAC Itire DCC Superintendent and Chairman, Conventions and Conferences Planning Committee of the church, was celebrated on 15th February 2024 at Raddison Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos.
Part of the major highlights of the celebration was the moment people shared many unbelievable testimonies about the cleric, serving as lessons for everyone.
Taking a sharp and concise exhortation, the Akinyele Regional Superintendent, Pastor S.A. Adedayo, using the text, Psalm 34:19 eulogized the celebrant as a "man who loves to say his mind. He's bold and because of that, he has many enemies. For him to have witnessed his 65th year, the word of God has been fulfilled. It pays to say the truth, but when you say it, you must prepare for spiritual war, persecution, opposition, blackmailing etc. Whether you like it or not it will come as long as you want to be on the Lord's side."
In his appreciation speech, the celebrant, Pastor Oladokun expressed his surprise at the birthday celebration organized for him and on his behalf.
"It took me by surprise. No one has ever done this for me in my entire life. I believe that the God of this church always pays one back. The Authority may not be able to pay you back, but God does. I'm happy that I'm being celebrated in my lifetime. It's good to be good. I appreciate everyone for organizing this. I really appreciate and love it and I want to say I love you all," he said.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Planning Committee of the celebration, Pastor Samuel Ojo, had earlier thanked God that the dream of celebrating him which started in September 2023 has come to reality, appreciating all the planning committee, particularly the Elder Gbenga Oladokun, Pastor John Ajala, Pastor Paul Ogundipe, Pastor Ayooluwaniagbarami Oladokun and the Regional Superintendent of Akinyele, Pastor S.A. Adedayo.
"We love the progress of Baba Oladokun. We know him to be an achiever. Whatever he lays his hand upon, he doesn't look back. His name can sell in the market," he said.
