Praises to God, dance offerings, jubilations, and smiles on people's faces on Sunday, March 17, 2024 as Christ Apostolic Church Temidire Onajimi Districts’ Coordinating Council (DCC) Bariga, Lagos celebrated her 10th edition of ‘Temidire Day’.
The Annual ‘Temidire Day’, according to the DCC Superintendent, Pastor J. A. Daramola, is an annual event set aside by the church to celebrate the spiritual fountain of blessings of founding fathers of the local assembly.
This year's edition, marking the 10th, was a special celebration characterized by a dedication service for the Temidire Hall and Temidire Faith Home conducted by the General Superintendent of CAC Nigeria & Overseas, Pastor E.O Odejobi.
Delivering a sermon on the topic ‘Spiritual Expansion and Prosperity’, Pastor Odejobi said one of the mercies of God that endures forever is the forgiveness of sins.
“When man sinned and was to be sent out of the Garden of Eden, God said man is no longer my likeness, my image; no longer a king over other creatures. Man is cursed, and man is coming back to be dust forever. Little wonder a baby cries so bitterly at birth because of the pronouncements against him which are so heavy”, he said.
Speaking further, Pastor Odejobi said “if you have not yet been baptized biblically, do not talk about your birthday. Your real birthday is the day you received the favor of God by confessing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.”
According to the clergy, the Yoruba language describes the placenta well as ‘Olu-ibi’ (arch evil), literally interpreting it as the ‘package of sins’ being the reason God chased man away from the Garden of Eden; adding that until the package follows a child into this world, the mother won’t be congratulated; and she may die.
Speaking on the dedicated buildings, the CAC General Superintendent noted that "building a worship centre is a sign of obedience to God and it comes with many rewards. Some of you do not have your personal house; yet, you contributed to build for God. Such will not go unrewarded."
The clergy said that God asked the Israelites to build a temple that He may live among them and not just come upon anyone whenever He needed to visit them, saying that "wherever God dwells, the barren becomes a mother, the jobless becomes gainfully employed, ministers of God become dependable, elders become honorable, the poor become rich, expansion and prosperity abound, etc."
The 10th edition of ‘Temidire Day’ was widely attracted erstwhile members of the church across the country, as well as Ministers who have served in the church.
In attendance were, the Akinyele Regional Superintendent, Pastor S.A Adedayo who was ably represented by the Akinyele Regional Secretary and Superintendent of Shomolu DCC, Pastor E.O.O Oyedeji; Superintendent of Shomolu Olaleye DCC, Pastor J.O Akinyomi; all District Superintendents under Temidire DCC; Vice Chairman CPFN/PFN Bariga, Pastor Moses Dare; Pastor Abraham Adeyeye from London; Midwife S.O Peter from C.A.C Shomolu Olaleye DCC; Midwife Grace Akerele from C.A.C Bariga Zone; among many others.
