As the world celebrated the 2024 Easter on Sunday, March 31, 2024, Christ Apostolic Church, Somolu Olaleye Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC), Lagos headed by her Superintendent, Pastor Joseph Oluwemimo Akinyomi held a Special Easter and resurrection service at the church auditorium.
Another special part of the service is the attendance of the DCC Superintendent of CAC First in America, Pastor Oluwagbemiga Timothy Famojuro, who worshipped at the church after attending the CAC General Council Meeting held last week.
Speaking on the topic, "Miracle of Easter", Pastor Famojuro emphasized on the kindness of God through Christ, telling the congregation that the celebration of Easter is the celebrating the greatest truth which "singles us out to be a true believer."
According to the cleric, "Through this truth, the Lord Jesus died for us. No one can give us what Jesus has given us. The real kindness is when you give out what you need most or what you cherish most and Jesus Christ did it for us. God gave us His only begotten son to die for the world."
He therefore charged that "It is good to always give out of the abundance because God is the greatest rewarder, our Lord Jesus is the best giver in this regard."
Categorizing the Miracle of Easter into three scenarios of the Biblical events, 'Mystery at the Tomb', 'The Holy Messenger', and 'He His The Message', the clergyman explained that nothing like the mystery at the tomb could ever happen before time and in the future, stating that despite being a mystery, it is the miracle by which God saved the world.
On the Holy Messenger (John 20:12-13), the Superintendent declared that there are different forms to spread the gospel, urging the congregation not to be afraid "of the people you want to evangelise to but Christ Himself who sent you."
"You can also be a messenger of God's message, make yourself available and useful for His kingdom. Let your behavior speak more about who you are, let everyone know that Jesus has risen," he challenged.
Speaking on the Message (John 20:17), Pastor Famojuro expressed that the message is "Jesus is Lord" through whom only is eternal life.
Also in attendance at the Special Easter service were, the Superintendent, CAC Somolu Olaleye DCC, Pastor Joseph Oluwemimo Akinyomi; the church Curate, Pastor Peter Abiodun, Pastor D. O. Onawale and Pastor Adebayo Adetayo.
