Under a uniformed ceremonious parade of the Royal Shepherd (R/S) of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, history was made on Saturday, May 18, 2024, as the Acting Commandant for the R/S Abeokuta Area Divisional Command who also doubles as the Divisional Captain for Holy Ghost Districts Coordinating Council (DCC), Captain Idowu Isreal Kehinde, wedded his bride, Kehinde Serah.
In what appears as the first R/S paramilitary wedding at the division since its inception in Abeokuta, the colourful holy matrimony held at Christ Apostolic Church Essien Regional Headquarters, Isale Ake, Abeokuta, gathered Ministers, families, friends and well-wishers.
Delivering the sermon on the topic "Power of Loneliness" at the solemnization service, the Superintendent, CAC Holy Ghost DCC, Pastor S. B. Olatunde charged the groom to love his wife as Christ loved the church, urging the bride to understudy her husband to the end of adapting and pleasing him.
The cleric stated that the groom must see his bride as part of his bones that need nurturing, and protection.
In his counsel, the Superintendent stressed avoiding the influence of third parties in their marriage, rather to take their cases to God in prayers.
"Marriage is an institution established by God himself," he said.
Describing that while the groom is one the gallant workers in Church of God serving in different committees and departments at CAC Holy Ghost DCC, and the bride, an active member of CAC Isale Ake, Pastor Olatunde commended the move of marital union among youths within the church denomination.
Beautifying the ceremony was special songs ministration by choristers of CAC Isale Ake, Essien Regional Headquarters as prayers were made for the newly wedded.
Also in attendance at the wedding ceremony were, Pastor A.A Oduronbi, Pastor N.A Idowu, and Pastor Emmanuel. Others are, family, friends, well wishers, staff of IAS Unique Homes and Properties; the Ace crew; he Royal Shepherds Abeokuta Area Divisional Command, Abeokuta; Representative from National Gospel Ambassadors and National Association of Broadcasting, among others.
