In a joyous celebration filled with praises and thanksgiving, Christ Apostolic Church Victory Land, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos State, has held a surprise birthday service on Sunday, June 9th, 2024 for CAC Missions Director, and Chairman Board of Missions, Pastor (Dr.) Caxton Segun Fasuyi alongside his beloved wife, Mrs. Josephine Titilayo Fasuyi.
Renowned gospel minister, Dare Justified, led the congregation in an uplifting session of praise and worship, setting the tone for the day, as the Elders & Deaconesses' choir rendered a special hymn titled 'Christian Home' followed by a special ministration by the church choir.
The birthday service was unknown to the celebrants who were invited to deliver a sermon on the "Christian Home", before they realized they were being specially celebrated. Pastor Fasuyi's birthday fell on May 5, and his wife, Mrs. Fasuyi, celebrated hers on May 19.
In an interview, conducted during the service, Pastor Fasuyi and wife reflected on their marital journey, acknowledging that marriage is not without its moments of joy and challenges.
When questioned on moments of disagreements in their home, the cleric explained his commitment to patience and endurance, guided by the belief that their union was ordained by God, while the wife emphasized the importance of forgiveness and seeking solace in God during trials.
Addressing the rising rate of divorce across the globe, Pastor Fasuyi emphasized the sanctity of marriage as a divine institution, urging prospective couples to approach marriage prayerfully and purposefully while abstaining from societal pressures. On financial transparency and shared responsibilities, the couple affirmed the importance of mutual trust and accountability, advocating for joint management of household affairs and finances.
As gratitude overflowed, a thanksgiving session led by Ministers Elijah Daniels and Dare Justified ensued, with the congregation lifting their voices in praise to God for the remarkable journey of Pastor Fasuyi and his wife.
The church also unveiled and dedicated an overflow and a children's church building named after Pastor (Dr.) Caxton Segun Fasuyi and Mrs. Josephine Titilayo Fasuyi.
During the dedication of the children's church, Pastor Fasuyi recounted that the day was a fulfilment of prophecy for him, recalling God's instruction to refrain from naming any structure he built for the kingdom after himself or his family.
He explained that God has told him a time will come when people will name structures after him, as such, the day marked the realization of that divine plan, a testament to God's faithfulness and perfect timing.
Touched by the outpour of love, Pastor and Mrs Fasuyi were moved to tears of joy, while they appreciated the heartfelt gestures from the church.
Filled with gratitude, they prayed God's blessings upon the congregation, affirming their unwavering commitment to serving God and advancing His kingdom.
In his welcome speech, the host minister and Zonal Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church Victory Land, Ikeja GRA, Pastor I.D.O. Akinpelu said the church is one of many kind that was pioneered and built by Pastor and Mrs Fasuyi about 23 years ago.
"Coincidentally, I'm a year old today as I officially became the minister in charge of this great church on the second sunday of June, 2023", said Pastor Akinpelu.
The clergy hinted on the plans of the church to embark on the construction of a mega church building which will cost about N100, 000, 000.
Speaking further, he said over the past year, God has tremendously helped the church to make some great moves, which includes but not limited to the maiden edition of an open-air crusade, renovation of the Zonal Superintendent's apartment, refurbishment of the board room and church bus, renovation of the children's church building, etc.
In a citation read in honor of Pastor C.S Fasuyi and his wife, Mrs Titilayo Fasuyi, it was stated that through them, God has established over 60 churches within and outside Nigeria. Some of the churches include CAC Victory Land, Pleasure, Lagos; CAC Victory Land, GRA, Ikeja; CAC Victory Land, Ilupeju; CAC Victory Land, Ikotun; CAC Victory Land, Ilaro; CAC Victory Land, Lekki; CAC Victory Land, Iju; CAC Victory Land, Ota; Others which are mission fields are CAC Surulere Assembly; CAC Sheraton; CAC South Africa; CAC Egypt; and many more.
Pastor and Mrs Fasuyi donated a building to the prestigious Joseph Ayo Babalola University, made financial contributions to the completion of the University's Senate Building, amongst many other developmental projects.
