Family holds Christian Wake Service & Service of Songs for late Pastor Amos Olorunpomi

The Christian Wake and Service of Songs for the father of the Regional Youth Coordinator of Christ Apostolic Church,  Akinyele Region, Pastor Emmanuel Olu Olorunpomi, Late Pastor Amos Olushola Abiye Olorunpomi (Rtd) was held yesterday Wednesday June 27, 2024.

The programme took place at the prestigious Stadplus Event Centre, Express house, off Otunba Jobi Fele Way, Central Business District, Ikeja, Lagos.

The Late Pastor Olorunpomi was born on Sunday, 2nd April, 1944 and slept in the Lord after a brief illness on Tuesday, 28th May, 2024.

The Late Icon was called into ministry in the year 1968 and retired as the Superintendent of CAC Ajeromi DCC, Lagos at the age of 75 after more than five decades of dedicated service.

In the delivery of his sermon, the incumbent Superintendent, CAC Ajeromi DCC, Pastor G.O Nwobodo who took over from the Late Pastor Olorunpomi said he was priviledged to have worked with the deceased on many occasions and at different levels.

He said the deceased was a true man of God and a father who possessed no luxury or landed properties but secured a good future for his children by training them educationally, morally, and spiritually.

Referencing Job 9:12, Pastor Nwobodo said "God has taken Pastor Amos Olorunpomi away, and no one dares question Him."

Speaking further, the Clergy said "the Late Pastor Olorunpomi died not because there was no money to take care of him, but because death is no respecter of persons and as children of God, this world is not our home, but heaven."

The Late Pastor Amos Olorunpomi was survived by siblings, Bishop Mike Olorunpomi and Pastor P.S. Olorunpomi; and children, Deaconess comfort O. Ogundele, a midwife in CAC; Pastor Emmanuel Olu Olorunpomi, CAC Eternal Praise; Pastor Steve Olorunpomi, RCCG Word of life; Mr David Olorunpomi; Mr Joshua Ayo Olorunpomi; Mrs Opeyemi Balogun;  Mr Elijah Yemi Olorunpomi; and Miss MoyinOluwa Olorunpomi.

A minute silence was observed in memory of the wife of the deceased, Mrs. Grace Oladunni Olorunpomi, who slept in the Lord on 27th November, 2017.

The deceased will be buried on Thursday, 27th June, 2024 at Atan Cemetery, Yaba by 10am, while the Outing/Thanksgiving service will hold on the same day at CAC Oke-Igbala DCC Headquarters, 71/73 Ikosi road, Ikosi, Ketu, Lagos by 12 noon.

Notable dignitaries at the program were the Superintendent, CAC Ajeromi DCC, Pastor G.O Nwobodo; Superintendent, CAC Ketu DCC, Pastor M.A. Ajayi; Superintendent, CAC Temidire Onajimi DCC, Pastor Ayo Daramola; Superintendent, CAC Chapel of Testimony District, Pastor Bunmi Babatunde; Superintendent, CAC Ayere Ijumu District, Kogi State (home town of the deceased), Pastor A.O Elegbeleye; the Assistant Coordinator, CACYOF Akinyele Region and Coordinator of CACYOF Lagos Campuses, Pastor I.T Ariyo; Justice and Mrs. Lanre Onafowokan among many others.
