The Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Yaba Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC), Yaba, Lagos, Pastor S.E.A. Oludare, at the CAC International Music Ministers Conference (CACIMMC) held in Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun state, has said that choristers are called to minister, not just sing.

Speaking to music ministers during the second conference seminar on Thursday, July 25, 2024, on the topic "Musical Excellence and Anointing" in relation to David in 1 Samuel 16, Pastor S.E.A. emphasized the need for anointing in a chorister's life, despite possessing skills or talents.

"We are out there to minister, not just to sing; it's not just about entertainment," he said.

"As a skilled musician or singer, to become a minister, you need the anointing to destroy yokes, heal, and make a meaningful impact." He added.

He stressed that anointing complements talent in a chorister's life.

"We have skills in the area of playing instruments, however, what is left for us to have is the anointing that will complement that talent that we carry so that when we sing, we will be ministering and not entertaining."

"It is the anointing that makes the difference and makes you a minister". He added.

Using David's life as a model, he encouraged choristers (instrumentalists inclusive) to: continually develop their skills, just as David did during his formative years; cultivate multiple skills, like David's expertise in both music and shepherding; and establish a strong foundation, rather than roaming from one church to another without a sense of belonging.

He outlined the effects of anointing on David and urged choristers to seek it, adding that God won't waste His anointing, so they must be prepared to receive it.

He then led the congregation in a powerful prayer session.
