Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Ibukun, Ikirun Districts’ Coordinating Council (DCC) headquarters, Owode, Osun state was filled to capacity, hosting dignitaries from all walks of life to celebrate the induction service of Pastor & Evang. (Mrs.) S.A. Olaiya as the 6th Superintendent of the DCC.
Pastor Olaiya was inducted by the Regional Superintendent of CAC Orogun Region, Pastor E.S. Famuyide who represented the church authority.
After administering the induction rite on Pastor Olaiya, the Orogun Regional Superintendent, Pastor Famuyide introduced the retired Regional Superintendent of CAC Odubanjo Region, Pastor S.O. Akinsulure and invited him before the congregation to pray for Pastor Olaiya and his wife.
While ministering at the programme on the topic "Martha received Him into the house" taking his text from Luke chapter 10 verse 38 to 42, Pastor Famuyide said unlike Mary who listened attentively to Jesus' preaching, Martha didn't, saying that Martha represents the distractors in the church while Mary are the genuine children of God.
Pastor Famuyide further urged the congregation to take Mary an example, not Martha who was only diligent with material things.
Quoting Luke 9:34-35 and Luke 8:19-21, the Clergyman said the people who loved God are those who listen to His word, emphasizing that Martha stands for religion where there is no salvation because religion is bondage.
The Regional Superintendent encouraged Pastor Olaiya to preach the word to Ikirun people quoting Romans chapter 10 verse 13-15.
Earlier in the service, the Secretary of Ikirun DCC, Pastor J. O. Odebode delivered a welcome speech, stating that CAC Oke Ibukun Owode Ikirun now DCC Headquarters started in 1934 with late Pastor E. A. Idowu and Elder James Ojo in attendance.
The church has grown to produce many zones and several districts among which are Igbajo zone, Ila orangun zone, etc. He stated that Ikirun DCC now has 17 districts with 5 past DCC superintendents while Pastor Olaiya is the incumbent and 6th.
Pastor Odebode enumerated the achievements of the current Superintendent who reported on January 4, 2024 as follows: "tiling, painting and equipping of the mission house, plastering and painting of the church perimeter fencing, purchasing of a giant Mikkano generator, construction of prayer altar (pepe adura) which cost two million naira etc."
The Secretary further revealed that there are four newly proposed districts which are CAC Ori Oke Agbara district, Gospeller Of Grace District, Oke Igbala Obaagun District and Oke Iye Iree District.
He also revealed that one of the major achievements of Pastor Olaiya is the revival organized across the 17 districts under the DCC with many souls won to the Lord and they were baptized.
Notable among dignitaries in attendance are, Rtd. Pastor Akinsulure; Pastor E. O. Adeleke; Pastor A. A. Abayomi; Pastor Oluwamakin; Pastor Jayeoba; Pastor J. O. Awotunde; Pastor M.K Olajide; Pastor Ajewole; Zonal Superintendents, many District Superintendents, Pastors and church workers. The family of the inducted Superintendent, Pastor Olaiya, from Kabba, Akure DCC, Ikare, Abuja, Lagos and other DCCs were also in attendance.
