Members of the Christ Apostolic Church, Sophia-Ajayi Region (Ekiti State) converged on C.A.C Ogba Alafia, Regional Headquarters Auditorium, Ado Ekiti on Sunday 18th August 2024 to glorify God in hymnal singing.
The 2024 Community Hymn Singing was declared open by the Sophia Ajayi Regional Superintendent; Pastor S.I Jayeoba. In his speech, he reminded members that it was a directive from God that everything that has life must praise Him and thus charged members to place appreciation above request in their communication with God.
The event had in attendance Superintendents of District Coordinating Councils (DCC), Zones and District as well as Pastors, Evangelists, Elders, CACMA, Good Women, Regional Publicity Department, Youth and other music lovers in Sophia-Ajayi Region.The event was also graced by Patrons and Patroness of the Regional Choir.
The Regional Choirmaster, Elder Olugbanga Agbeti, during the programme explained the importance of godly music, particularly hymns, as powerful tools in appreciating God and divine healing. Before taking each of the selected Hymns by the Glorious Regional Choir, citations were taken on the composers of the hymn to show the inspiration behind the songs.
The Community Hymn Singing has been institutionalised as a yearly ritual in the region for God's exaltation in hymnal singing with 2024 being the second edition.
The Assistant Regional Choir Master (Music/Training) Pastor Idowu Akeredolu as well as the Regional Choir Secretary; Dr Adaramoye Toyin applauded members of the Regional Choir for their efforts and commitment since the beginning of the year toward the success of the event. Similarly, Elder L. S Ogunsetire, the Assistant Regional Choir Master (Administration), thanked all participants for their contribution financially and in all ramifications with a promise that year 2025 edition, if God tarries will be another glorious occasion.
