As Missionaries across the globe gathered for this year’s Christ Apostolic Church Missions Conference 2024, a call has gone to them to stay true to their calling.
The President of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele said this while delivering his address on Friday at the opening session of CAC Missions Conference 2024 holding at CAC All Saints’ Chapel, CAC General Secretariat, Anlugbua, Ibadan, Oyo state.
He noted that just like every other work of service in the Lord’s vineyard, there are challenges missionaries encounter, urging them to take solace in the book of Matthew 28:20 which says, “… I am with you always, even to the end of age.”
The President assured the missionaries that the church authority shall continue to play her role in providing the support and encouragement needed to justify the commitment of the missionaries.
According to the Clergyman, missionary work means, following Jesus first and foremost, then being empowered by the Holy Spirit, you spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and make disciples for Him.
Speaking on the corporate theme of the church for year 2024 which is, "Spiritual Power and Gifts for the Body of Christ”, Pastor Oladele stated that: “the body of Christ is the Church which he established, for which he died and which he promised to sustain and make flourish. One of the ways by which the Lord flourishes His Church is by the various gifts with which He endowed her.”
The President also told the missionaries that: “the business of missions is first and foremost the work of the Holy Spirit who quickens the hearts of men and women to yearn for a deeper understanding of God and a closer walk with Him. However, we are not unmindful of the role which you play in bringing the news of the saving power of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to the unreached. Your sacrifice is hereby acknowledged and appreciated. May the Lord will reward you accordingly, in Jesus’ Name.”
The President declared the conference opened after which various impactful lectures were delivered.
