The General Evangelist of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Prophet Hezekiah O. Oladeji has decried the current state of things in ministry where many unscrupulous things have replaced the quest for the power of God which was a major characteristic of the early fathers of the church.
He explained that a life without power is empty, adding that power was the media and ambience of the early fathers of the Church.
Prophet Oladeji said this while delivering the General Evangelist's Message titled "Developing Spiritual Gifts for Effective Ministerial Calling" at the recently concluded CAC Pastors' Conference 2024 held at Babalola International Memorial and Miracle Camp, Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State.
During the prayer and prophetic session, the cleric told ministers that a child who does not have the fear of his father cannot have the heritage of his father, noting the need for them to conquer their personal battles as a qualification for preaching.
"You are preaching but you have not conquered your battle. The one who has attained victory is the one qualified to preach," he said.
Speaking on the need to develop spiritual gifts for effective ministerial calling, the Prophet stated that growing these gifts by ministers will surely be evident in the growth and development of the church.
"What kind of development can we have in the church when you are not vibrant and fit?" he asked ministers.
Charging the ministers to avoid whoever discourages them from the pursuit of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, he added that those who held the fort of the early church were not only called but were endowed with power.
He said that "whoever says you should not pursue the Holy Spirit and His Gifts is pushing you towards the bush."
According to Prophet Hezekiah, "those who held the fort of the early church were not only called but were endowed with power. That power made them known."
