Christ Apostolic Church, Eternal Praise Assembly, Lagos marked a momentous milestone this Sunday, celebrating its 7th anniversary with praises, prayer, and an insightful sermon under the theme "A New Address," based on Colossians 1:12-14.
The anniversary celebrations began with an inspiring 21-day prayer, which set the tone for a jubilant and spiritually enriching service.
The church choir led the congregation in an uplifting session of praise and worship. The atmosphere was electric, as believers danced, sang, and gave thanks to God for His faithfulness over the past seven years. The choir’s powerful rendition of hymns and gospel songs created a spirit of celebration and thanksgiving that resonated throughout the entire service.
The minister-in-charge, Pastor E. Olu Olorunpomi, delivered the sermon that emphasized the spiritual significance of having the right address. Drawing from Colossians 1:12-14, he explained that a person's life, like any physical address, requires a direction and a landmark to locate it.
"There's no place on earth without a direction to locate it," Pastor Olorunpomi said during his sermon. "Similarly, there's no address without a landmark. Your life must be anchored in the right address, Jesus Christ."
Pastor Olorunpomi outlined three types of addresses every believer must understand; ‘Residential Address’ which refers to a person's current physical and spiritual state. "It is not just where you live, but it also speaks to the state of your finances, business, and career," he explained.
The Clergyman encouraged the congregation to use faith as transition from where they are to where they need to be. He urged them to trust in God’s guidance to move from one stage of life to the next, whether in personal growth or financial breakthrough.
“The second type of address is the Right Address”, said the Clergy. Drawing from Colossians 1:12-14, Pastor Olorunpomi made it clear that without Christ, a person has no true address. "The right address is in Christ. Without Jesus, there are no hope, no direction, and no future," he said. The "New Address" is about leaving behind a sinful life for one of holiness, leaving poverty for prosperity, and exchanging sadness for joy.
The third type of address is the ‘Real Address’. Pastor Olorunpomi concluded with a powerful reflection on Philippians 3:20, where he described the "Real Address" as a believer’s eternal home, heaven. "While we live in this world, our real address is with God. We are in the world, but we are not of the world," he reminded the congregation, urging everyone to focus on their eternal destination.
Several ministers and distinguished guests graced the occasion, including Pastor Yinka Fayemi, CAC Chapel of Testimony, Shasha; Prophet Olajide Israel, Heritage Gospel Church of God, Ijebu-Ode; Pastor Olufemi Omoleye; Pastor Oladimeji Komaiya, Believers Cornerstone Ministry, Ijebu-Ode; Pastor Gbenga Oladipupo, and many others.
