Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Igbala, Owutu Zonal Headquarters, Lagos, held a vibrant 27th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
The event, which marked a significant milestone in the church’s journey, was filled with powerful worship, inspiring preaching, and a momentous occasion—the unveiling of the church’s inaugural magazine, Gospel Link Publication.
The service began with an energetic session of praises to God led by the church choir, setting a tone of celebration and joy. The Good Women Choir then took the stage, offering more uplifting music, before the church choir closed the musical ministrations with another round of soul lifting ministration, leading the congregation into a deep spiritual atmosphere.
Preaching from Philippians 4:13, the Superintendent of Akinyele Region, Pastor S.A. Adedayo shared a profound message titled, "I Can Do All Things in Christ."
He emphasized the true meaning behind this well-known scripture, explaining that while many interpret it as a promise to achieve personal goals and desires, its deeper meaning is about enduring hardship, remaining faithful, and finding joy even in the most difficult circumstances.
"In Christ Apostolic Church, we have a tradition of encouraging one another in the faith," Pastor Adedayo reminded the congregation, echoing the apostle Paul’s example of mutual encouragement.
He stressed that the verse is not about achieving anything we desire but rather about relying on Christ to face life’s challenges.
He urged the church members to draw strength from Christ, reminding them that true contentment comes from His sufficiency, especially in times of trial.
The Clergy also explored the empowering and sustaining strength of Christ.
He explained that Christ’s strength enables Christians to face challenges beyond their natural abilities and sustains them through hardships. Quoting Isaiah 40:29 and 2 Corinthians 12:9, he encouraged the congregation to recognize their limitations and rely on God’s grace. "Even in our weaknesses, God’s strength is sufficient," he affirmed.
In a moment of great significance, the church unveiled Gospel Link Publication, the maiden edition of its new magazine. The publication is expected to become a vital tool for the church to share the gospel, inspire the faithful, and foster greater community engagement.
As the service drew to a close, the congregation led by the Zonal Superintendent, Pastor F.O. Oluwadele, participated in a special thanksgiving session. Pastor Oluwadele took a moment to thank God, recalling how an incident that could have resulted in a mass casualty was miraculously averted. The congregation joined in lifting their voices in songs of praise and thanksgiving, grateful for God's continued grace and mercy over the church.
