The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) South West Zone, Bishop Tunde Akin-Akinsanya, on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025, led a delegation of dignitaries from Christian bodies in Nigeria on a homely visit to the principal officers and fathers of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Nigeria and Overseas.
The delegation included executives of CAN South West Zone, Oyo State CAN executives, Chairman Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN) who also doubles as CAC Babalola Regional Superintendent, Pastor G. S. Dada and his team of executives, amongst other representatives of the mission.
Stating the purpose of the visit in his address, Bishop Akin-Akinsanya said;“As one of the fathers that we respect and honour not only in south west but worldwide, we are here to celebrate with you for the New Year and to formally introduce ourselves as the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria and to let you know that a new leadership just emerged few months ago. We have every reason to come celebrate you to thank you for standing upright on behalf of the Christian faith in the entire world. “
Bishop Akin-Akinsanya expressed his gratitude to the CAC authorities, affirming his trust in the church's leadership and promising to seek their advice regularly.
He pledged his allegiance, along with that of his team, to the church and towards ensuring the success of CAN South West Zone.
"We believe so much in your leadership and want you to be part of our administration in the South West for the next five years." He said.
"We will regularly seek your counsel and present our projects, soliciting your support." He added.
Bishop Akin-Akinsanya assured the CAC authorities that his team would work tirelessly to move CAN South West forward, providing regular updates on their progress.
CAC President, Pastor Samuel Olusegun Oladele, welcomed and commended the delegation for their visit noting that it is a courteous act.
“We want to thank you for coming and you have done that which courtesy demands after your inauguration to deem it fit to come and visit here today is something that is courteous which we appreciate very much.”
Pastor Oladele emphasized the importance of unity in the body of Christ as explained in the scripture.
"Nobody does anything alone; we need one another. As far as the body of Christ is concerned, the Bible says we are one. Though we have differences like body parts, but all of them work together for the good of the body and we need to harp on those things that unite us more than those secondary things are potent in dividing us; that we will not allow." He remarked.
Pastor Oladele pledged his support, saying, “Anytime you need counsel or support in any kind or form, please do not hesitate to let us know and by the grace of God, we shall do all that is within our power to make sure that CAN in Oyo state, South West and generally, makes progress by the grace of God."
On this note, Pastor Oladele welcomed everyone and blessed them.
Following the addresses, CAC General Evangelist, Prophet Hezekiah O. Oladeji, offered prayers for the delegation.
