The Regional Superintendent, Christ Apostolic Church, Akinyele Region, Pastor S. A. Adedayo has emphasised the biblical perspective to leadership at the recent official visit of the president of the church, Pastor S.O. Oladele to CAC General Headquaters, Ebute-Elefun, Lagos.

Pastor Adedayo, referencing Ephesians 4:11-12 in his welcome address, emphasized that leadership is not exclusive to a select few, but rather an integral part of God's plan to equip His people in building His church.

He noted that kingdom leadership is God-centered, not self-centered.

"Leadership in the Kingdom of God is not about status, power, or personal ambition. It is a divine calling to serve, influence, and guide others toward God's purpose," he explained.

Citing the examples of Moses, Gideon, the disciples, and Christ Apostolic Church's founding fathers, he illustrated that God calls, prepares, and equips leaders.

"God calls people to leadership like Moses, Gideon, the disciples, and our numerous fathers in Christ Apostolic Church. It is worthy to note that God calls ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things through His power."

He highlighted that leaders in God's kingdom, as referenced in Mark 10:45, must embody humility, faith, and a servant's attitude.

Pastor Adedayo also stressed the importance of leaders depending on God through scripture and prayer for effective leadership.

"We all need knowledge and wisdom to function well in whatever capacity God has called us to serve in; God provides the tools we need to lead effectively. Through His Word, prayer, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, He shapes us into leaders who walk in wisdom and truth." He said.

He pointed that true leaders empower others to fulfill their God-given purpose, citing Jesus' mentorship of His disciples as a model.

Addressing the ministers and  congregants, the clergy urged, "As we embark on this journey of leadership preparation, I encourage each of us to ask: How is God calling me to lead? Am I willing to be shaped and equipped for His purpose? Let us commit ourselves to being available, teachable, and faithful in serving God and His people."

He also reminded them that, "Jesus did not promise us an itch-free journey void of challenges but He promised to encourage and comfort us all through the Holy Spirit as we move from victory to victory."

Pastor Adedayo advised leaders and aspiring leaders to pursue ongoing learning, combining biblical principles with effective leadership methods.

He noted that their personal engagement with God's word would reflect in their leadership performance, urging them to cooperate with God as He prepares them for a key role in His agenda.

Highlighting the contrast between biblical and worldly leadership, Pastor Adedayo concluded with Proverbs 3:5-6, saying,

"A biblical perspective on leadership centers on servant leadership, humility, reliance on God, and the responsibility to guide others in alignment with God's will, unlike worldly leadership, which often focuses on power and personal gain."

"Biblical leadership emphasizes service, stewardship, and character; leadership in the Bible is a divine appointment, not self-initiated". He concluded.
