What mean these Stones?- This was the title of the message delivered by the President, Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor S. O. Oladele at the New Year Thanksgiving Service at CAC All Saints' Chapel, Basorun, Ibadan.
Taking his text from Joshua chapter 4 verse 6 to 7, the President noted that the Israelites needed to cross over River Jordan to the promised land, having spent years of slavery and deprivation in the land of Egypt. The Lord, through His mighty acts, brought them out of Egypt, parted the Red sea for them to pass through, rained down manna from heaven, miraculously sustained their clothes and shoes for 40 years, brought out water from the rock and many mighty manifestations.
According to him, these miracles God wrought in the midst of the Israelites because they were chosen to be a testament of God's supremacy over the idols of the heathen nations.
Pastor Oladele stated further that God having wrought aforementioned wonders in their midst was set to do much more for them.
Standing before the River Jordan, the Israelites were given some sets of instructions, among which was to make a heap of Twelve stones brought out of the river. This heap would serve as a testament of the miraculous Acts of God at river Jordan and when their children asked: 'what mean these stones,' the Israelites had it as a duty to recount the miraculous acts of God.
The CAC President emphasized that as Children of God, we should tell our children and entire household as well as testify of God's salvation at work in us.
In his message, the heap of stones speaks of our rescue from bondage and helplessness. Our discovery and deliverance and our testimony of God's benevolence to us.
The atmosphere at the New-year Thanksgiving Service at CAC, All Saints' Chapel was that if gratitude, rejoicing, dancing and hearty praise to the most high God.
