In a message of renewed hope on Sunday, March 17th, 2025, the Chaplain, Christ Apostolic Church,  All Saints Chapel, Ibadan, Pastor Tunde David Asokeji, has urged believers to take a step further in their faith by looking beyond the hills.

Speaking on "The Real Help" and drawing from Psalm 121:1-7, he highlighted the Psalmist's distinction between help that may come from earthly sources, symbolized by the hills, and the ultimate help that comes from a higher, divine source.

“Psalm 121 was written to encourage the children of Israel when they were ascending from Zion to Jerusalem.  This Psalm speaks about help, assistance and aid; the Psalmist here admits that there might be help on the hills, but he looks beyond the hills, He looks up to God.’’ He said.

According to Pastor Asoķeji, many Christians experience delays in receiving answers to their prayers because they fail to look beyond the hills, limiting their expectations of help to earthly sources alone.

He then encouraged individuals who are facing neglects from family members not to give in to anxiety but to rather put their expectations on God adding that if one keeps his eyes on people and circumstances, such would not just be disappointed but will fail.

Citing the example of David in 2 Samuel 9:1 whose heart was moved by God to show kindness to Saul’s offspring for Jonathan's sake, Pastor Asokeji made it explicit that God still ministers to the heart of those He chooses to be a blessing to specific individuals.

In his words he noted, “When God puts you in the heart of your helper, he will spend anything to locate you.”

He then admonished believers to take their eyes off any matter of concern and set their eyes like a flint looking up to God.
