CAC General Evangelist, Prophet Hezekiah O. Oladeji |
By Rachael Oke
The call to return to God was one of the many points stressed by the General Evangelist, Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Prophet Hezekiah O. Oladeji at the 2025 Odo Owa Annual Revival held at Babalola Mountain, Odo Owa, Kwara State.
Referencing Joshua 21: 43-46, the General Evangelist told the congregants that God fulfilled His promises to the Israelites after they had settled with God.
"God gave Israelites all the land He promised to give them, no part was left out - a sign that He had settled every case they had with Him that made Him act against the promise initially." He explained.
"He made them overcome all the enemies He assigned to afflict them. When the Lord returned to the Israelites’ side, their enemies could not stand before them." He added.
Relating it to the modern day believers, Prophet Hezekiah noted that God gives Christians victory over their enemies when they reconcile their ways with Him.
In his words, he said "The moment you are reconciled to Him today and He forgives you, the witches, those God permits to afflict you because of your disobedience, the occultic ones and sorcerers who have overpowered you will be silenced because none of them can contend with God."
"The moment you settle the case between you and God today, your joy will be full." He added.
The General Evangelist also addressed the issue of barrenness and deformed birth among CAC members, attributing it to neglect of God's laws and covenant.
"CAC members do not go barren or give birth to deformed children but, because they choose to neglect the law of the Lord through our fathers, many have lost God’s presence and do not enjoy divine healing like the fathers." He noted
"Even unbelievers give birth to deformed children, and such children receive their healing when they are brought to CAC. We have however, wandered away from the covenant of this church, disregarding the authority and call of the prophets, fasting and vigils; the law of the Lord has become meaningless; defilement and desecration of sacred things has become the order of the day." He highlighted.
He added that many Christian families experience affliction from the enemies because the fire on their altar has gone out.
Posing a thought provoking question, Prophet Hezekiah said "Where is the Lord in your life?"
According to him, the problem many Christians face occur as a result of the absence of God in their lives.
"Satan stands before many Christians because the One who lives in them has left." He said.
He emphasised that settling with God and returning to the covenant would restore God's promises bringing fullness of joy.
"When God comes back to your life, you will recover your land. No enemy will be able to withstand you, then your joy will be full." He concluded.
